Platte Valley Precast Laser Screed

The Copperhead XD is a compact, lightweight laser screed. It uses Somero’s patented laser leveling technology to cut the concrete to a finished grade, screed it flat, and vibrate it smooth in one pass. Unlike larger laser screeds, however, the Copperhead is available for difficult situations. It is light enough for suspended floors, (a mere 795 lbs.!), versatile enough for rebar mats, and still as accurate as a laser can be!

Floors with rebar, low-slump floors, floors with poor subgrade, suspended floors, and small floors that still need laser-leveled quality are usually inaccessible or are impractical for the S-240 laser screed. However, the quality of the laser-leveled floor is still available. Platte Valley Precast operates the Somero Copperhead XD for such situations.

This slab is 20” thick, with a double mat of rebar. The Copperhead laser screed gives us the capability of pouring and trowel-finishing 15,000 sq. ft. in one day.

The Somero S-240 laser screed mounts a 12' screed on a 20' telescoping boom. The screed is constantly controlled by laser receivers on the head, delivering extremely accurate screeding performance. The laser screed also boasts relatively short setup time, creating maximum efficiency and price point.
